Awards night for Small-Sided Teams

18/02/2025

The Breadalbane & Strathtay Youth Football Club Awards Evening for all our small-sided teams, took place at Breadalbane Community Campus on Friday 7th Feb.

Around 150 kids, parents, coaches & supporters enjoyed music, games and party food bags from Bruce Entertainment. Thanks to the local Co-op for their donation.

This year saw our Chair Mairi McAdam step down. She has fulfilled various roles over the past decade and her fantastic legacy is reflected in such a great turnout for the evening.

Her achievements include growing the Girls Pathway, helping the Club achieve the SFA  Platinum Quality Mark (first Club in PKYFA ), creating the Pitlochry Football Festival where over 60 teams from all over Scotland now attend, providing the U15s with a once in a lifetime trip to Holland, developing the award winning Football Nurture project,  receiving the Best Volunteer in Youth Football at the Scottish FA Grassroots Awards in 2022

No surprise that this year our Marlene Robertson Memorial Award for outstanding contribution was given to Mairi McAdam. It is no understatement to say the Club would not be where it is without all her hardwork and leadership over the last decade.

Special thanks were given to Kerry Davies for pulling off a record breaking Xmas Raffle Fundraiser with her fantastic team of helpers and to Andrew 'Simmy' Simpson for all his work in developing the Afterschool football programme in Pitlochry where we work closely with Gregor Ross from  Active Schools Highland Perthshire.

Well done to all the Prize winners and to all the Players who have taken part in training, matches, After School clubs, School tasters & holiday Camps throughout 2024, and to all our fantastic volunteers and Coaches who made it all possible.

A big thanks to all our Team Sponsors and the long suffering Parents & Supporters for all the miles they travelled, cold evenings they endured at training, the roller coaster of emotions they have been put through at matches and continued support they have  shown.

Our new look Committee have done a fantastic job with the impossible task of replacing Mairi. Funding has been secured for our Development Officer Scott to continue in post for another year thanks to SSE Windfarm, Scottish FA & Gannochy Trust. His main remit will be to continue growing participation levels and support our volunteer Coaches.

We still need more Volunteers to come forward so that we can have an even bigger & better 2025 season.
