GIRLS PATHWAY - SAT 30th Nov
BSYFC U10s v Forfar Farmington U10s (SWF East Region Tier 2)
Last Saturday, our younger crop of U10s were in action against a strong team from Forfar Farmington Football Club. The Girls are progressing each week and great to see so many new faces joining. Klara simply refused to let the opposition get past her time and time again with some real solid tackles which won her the Player of the Week.
BSYFC U10s v Jeanfield Jax U10s (SWF East Region Tier 1)
The older U10 Girls also played their final match of the season and it turned out to be a cracker against Jeanfield Jax. A real end to end tussle with lots of goals and brilliant play all over from both teams.
Well done to Vanessa who won every ball she challenged for and also Player of the Week.
This was the last match this group will play at 7aside as they will take the exciting step up to U12s and 9aside when the new season begins in March.
On the Friday evening, some of our U14 Girls, Coaches & Parents had made the trip to Easter Road to cheer on the Womens National Team against Finland in a Euro Qualifier. Despite Scotland dominating play, the match ended goaless and then Finland would win the return leg a few days later to progress as Scotland's women missed out on another major finals.
Our Girls Pathway is flourishing and the Players & Coaches will take a well deserved break over the Festive period.
The number of Girls now playing football is fantastic to see and our U14s with Coaches Poodle & Jonathan, who continue to make great progress, are fantastic role models for the younger players with the Girls regularly helping coach the younger groups.
Our U10s have achieved what no other team has managed since the Club was formed - field not one but two 7 aside teams at the same age group !! This has meant a real logistical challenge co-ordinating both teams especially to away matches in Fife & Dundee but Coaches Kris, Dave & Jim and the Parents have done an amazing job.
