GIRLS PATHWAY - SAT 16th NOV
DUSC U10s vs BSYFC U10s (East Region U10 Girls Tier 1)
Coaches Dave & Jim were full of praise for the girls after a great performance against a strong Dundee United SC team.
Eliza, ever reliable, did a great job between the posts for the first half, supported by Olive and Freya in defence. Aurora midfield, and Cayla, Hannah, and Zosia up front. There were goals a plenty for Zosia and Eliza, and a noteworthy performance by Vanessa despite taking a knock during warm-up. Freya was Player of the Match for her sterling performance at right back, ever calm under pressure, and she didn’t make a single mistake. A real contest with honours pretty much even at the end.
BSYFC U10s v Kinross Colts U10s (East Region U10 Girls Tier 2)
Our newer girls to the pathway competed well against a more experienced Kinross Colts FC Juniors. Encouraging performances all over the park, especially when going forward. Great to see four different scorers today - Kamilla, Layla, Daphne & Caoimhe. ⚽⚽⚽⚽
Tough call for POTW, but for the holy hat trick of debut appearance, debut goal, and debut save-with-your-face was Caoimhe. Fitting right in and not scared of having a crack at goal with that thunderous wee right foot! Well done It took young Caoimhe a full ten minutes to surpass her Dad Jim's scoring tally during his entire, albeit brief, career for Breadalbane as striker.
BSYFC U14 5 v 6 Dundee East U14 (SWF 9 aside friendly)
Coaches Poodle and Jonathan had a healthy squad of 13 players available for the visit of Dundee East Community Sports Club.
The visitors opened the scoring with a thunderous free kick into the top corner which was simply unstoppable. They extended their lead before Breadalbane replied with a well worked goal that was cooly despatched by Bella.
The visitors would add another couple despite it being an even contest as play ebbed and flowed from end to end with Brooke looking solid in defence. Mel's selfless running for the team is priceless and she was alert to dart in from the right and drill a shot low into the far side of the goal to claw one back which the home side's play had surely merited.
ht 2-4
The team continued to perform well in the second half and Ellie had a neat to pull another back before the scores were tied thanks to a Dundee East defender turning the ball into her own net after good pressure. The visitors got their noses in front again before Bella added her second.
ft 5-6
Alba picked up Player of the Week for an assured passing display and great work in defence. The team and their Coaches continue to make steady progress and they have certainly come a long way since the start of their footballing journey thanks to their excellent attitude and a resilience which is second to none.
