SMALL SIDED TEAMS - SUN 10th Nov
Fun4s - PKYFA 4 aside festival
Just one team entered with Coach Annette last Sunday at Bertha Park, Perth. The kids were certainly feeling the cold but did well to get going. They moved the ball quickly and scored some cracking goals ⚽ and also found the post on several occasions. Special mention to Charlie who played for the opposition for a game when they were down in numbers.
Super5s - PKYFA 5 aside festival
Two teams entered for the Super 5s and there was a trio of hard games for the team with Coaches Shane and Squeak. Despite being up against good opposition, the team never gave up and had some good passages of play themselves, Matthew carried on his good form with great tackling and passing. Player of the Week went to Cameron for showing good energy in both attack and defence.
Coach Andy looked after the other team who saw a big improvement again this week in their first game with our passing and positional play which proved a handful for the opposition. The team all played very well and tried to take this into the next two games although the other teams were doing exactly the same which resulted in a more difficult challenge. Our team showed great defending throughout and a lot of promise going forward. The team will continue to work on passing and moving to receive the ball in training.
Player of the week went to Callum for his energy, , constant defending and always being in space to receive the ball. Well done to all the team, keep doing the right things and most importantly......... keep having fun!
Scone Thistle 2015 v BSYFC 2015 (U9s)
A slow start at Scone Thistle today but, once the boys warmed up, they played a lot of good football and kept the Scone keeper on his toes. They Team continue to pass well and are improving week on week. Again anyone could of been Player of the Week but Cormac got it for his high work rate, ball control and never backing off in the tackle. Well done Cormac and the team !
BSYFC 2014 v Fair City Reds 2014 (U10s)
Breadalbane played their first home game since promotion and welcomed Fair City Reds to Ballinluig where a minutes silence was observed for Remembrance Sunday as happened across all Youth matches.
Coaches had asked the boys to get the ball into wide areas and they executed this game plan perfectly with Ethan racing through to score. It then became a bit of a battle with Cubby, Luke defending well and Jamie in goals having some outstanding saves. The midfield of Ethan, Jacob and Lachlan were causing Fair City problems when counter attacking at pace. Lewis was asked to play a different role up front and kept working hard off the ball to stretch the opposition defence. Max and Alfie entered the field of play and Alfie ( playing only his second ever game ) got in so many tackles and showed pace and desire to help his team. Max came on up top, held up the ball and got on the score sheet with a goal. He had been in bed unwell all week so was great to see him back with the team. Ethan's pace and skill can be a joy to watch and he completed his hat trick ⚽ with another two goals both from running on to good through balls. Jamie, Lachlan and Cubby were providing good long through balls for Ethan , Max and Lewis to get in behind the Fair City defence. Luke broke through also and was unlucky not to score.
At times Fair City were tough in the tackle but the team competed well and did not let it stop them from playing their own style of quick passing football. A great team performance but Kempy awarded Player of the Week to Alfie. He won so many tackles, made some brilliant clearences and was super composed in defence never panicking on the ball and always making the right decision to help the team today. The team have made a great account of themselves in this new league and the improvement is there for all to see.
Jeanfield 2013 v BSYFC 2013 (U11s)
Only 9 players again this week on a big heavy pitch but what an effort everyone put in!
Great to see a quick start which resulted in two early goals ⚽⚽ from Nathan and Max. Jeanfield started to get more into the match as first half went on finding space between defence and midfield. They were rewarded with two long range goals and a penalty. Second half was excellent! Again a quick start with a great goal from Paul and amazing effort from everyone in pushing for a winner but unfortunately Jeanfield scored on the counter attack. The team refused to give up and got what they deserved with a late goal from Wilf. Well done everyone superb effort !
Player of week goes to Nestor who never stopped running and made so many tackles and interception.
