GLENROTHES FCC REDS U10 v BSYFC WHITES U10 - 21st Sep
Seven girls’ for the trip to Glenrothes FCC Girls Team meant no subs and a lot of running for everyone. Nonetheless a brilliant performance from all. Maria captained for the first half with Daphne in goal. The ever-reliable Eilish making the right back area her very own. Kamilla and Layla on the left, Olive on the right and Leona up front. Second half saw Maria between the sticks and changes up front.
Despite constant pressure, the girls ran their hearts out through niggles and fatigue. Coach Jim was confident that everyone will have slept well on Saturday night after the shift they put in. Player of the Match was a democratic event this week (Ballon d'Or style) with Maria winning the majority of the votes.
JOLTS U10 v BSYFC BLUES U10 - 21st Sep
A damp grey start to the Blues away game at Riverside, Perth but that didn't stop the U10 Girls from bringing the heat!
Evie volunteered for goalkeeping duties, behind the blossoming defensive partnership of Emilia and Amy, both proving solid at the back and playing the ball forward to feet of the time, not a square ball across the defensive line in sight! With captain Vanessa proving more than capable of protecting the back line and marshalling the team, passes were spraying left right and centre to flying inside wingers Hannah and Zosia, completed by Cayla leading the line up front. With the defence only breached by long balls over the top, the Blues controlled the game well and challenged for every single ball. When in possession the give & go movement was always accompanied with a shout. Great attitude, great play, great communication.
Coach Kris delegated the Player of the Week decision to the travelling Ultras (well, some of the parents) and so they had the impossible task of choosing player of the week in a team that played as a unit where every one of them deserved the trophy, by method of forensic statistical analysis (rock, paper, scissors) Cayla won the this week with an excellent display of movement, strength, ball control and passing while bagging a few goals on the day which could have been more such was her performance. Well done Cayla!
