Breadalbane Girls on the Road

09/09/2024

A couple of Fife Expeditions for both our U10s teams and there were lots of smiles at Kirkcaldy for a great game of football between Breadalbane Whites and RRCC Girls Section.

Coach Fi & Raith Rovers Rebels are always great to play against and, although Breadalbane travelled a player light, a hastily arranged transfer fee, saw Izzy and Cara from Raith help out the visitors. A big thank you to both Girls who played amazing and said their new teammates were all friendly especially the one with the "Spacebuns" aka Hannah. Some excellent performances but Coach Jim gave the award to Evie for another amazing display.

Meanwhile over in Glenrothes, Coach Kris thought Breadalbane Blues U10s produced possibly their best performance yet, not because of the goals but the way they played. Heads up, always looking for a pass, great defensive work, but most importantly showing such a brilliant attitude. A proud Coach Kris explained "They kept their shape well and let the ball do the work. Everyone can be rightly proud of the way they conducted themselves today and worked their socks off for each other, a true team performance."

Incredibly difficult choice this week with great performances in every single position but Player of the Week was Freya. An excellent defensive performance first half before switching to midfield in the second half where she somehow managed to up her workrate, topped by a sublime through-ball between 2 defenders for an on-rushing sister Eliza to take the ball in her stride and drive home first time. Real top drawer stuff girls. A big thank you to Glenrothes FCC Girls Team  for hosting.

The U14 Breadalbane Brave hearts were also on the road to Kirriemuir where the last encounter produced a goal fest for both teams. Coaches Jonathan and Poodle decided to move a few players' positions having identified some things in training. Just like the last game, the crowd were treated to lots of chances and lots of goals. Both teams playing lovely football in the heat with Ellie, Holly, Lexie and Bella all getting on the score sheet. Emeri was unlucky not to get a few goals. Heidi in goals is growing with confidence every week and pulled off some outstanding one handed saves. However it was new signing Pippa, who slotted into the team seamlessly, who was awarded Player of the Week for a fantastic performance. The Coaches asked the girls to try and achieve 4 things this week:-

Have Fun

Play Good football

Create Chances

Score Goals

They certainly did all 4 and this performance bodes well for when the team can welcome back Alba, Amelia, Erika and Emma all of whom were unavailable. A big thanks to Kirriemuir Thistle Football Club for hosting the game which was played in the right manner.
