Weekly Wrap

24/06/2024

Warm weather on Sunday 2nd June which meant a hard shift for the 2013s at Blairgowrie in the heat with no subs. The effort from the team was excellent and they certainly deserved a few more goals. Some neat passing moves in the 2nd half and good goals from Wilf, Oliver and a first ever for Matthew! Player of the week goes to Kacper who stayed positive and encouraged his teammates throughout the game. Superb !

The  2015s were also enjoying the warm  weather for a fantastic match against Fair City at the South Inch in Perth. The boys looked much more cohesive and it paid off with some lovely goals. They kept their heads up against tough opposition. Great work from Finlay who showed improved skills and really got stuck in & kept a calm head for the penalties for Player of the Week. Well done.

Pitch was in excellent condition as the 2012s hosted Letham in the first of three fixtures at Home Street. The team played very well in phases with little between the sides in the first half. Letham scoring twice and Ross replying with a great goal for Breadalbane.

A large squad meant lots of substitutions, which made it difficult for the team to settle. However, the healthy squad size will stand the team in good stead for their upcoming move to 11 aside.

Fred had some first-class saves and was awarded Player of the Match. Great performance!

Next up were the 2010s and what a display for the final game of the U14s season as the lads shook off a difficult Cup final result with a brilliant display of football against Crieff.

The Defence was in fine form which meant Joel was rarely put under pressure. Midfield were dominant, with outstanding performances from Finlay D, David and Rhys in the centre. Ceiran and Finn on countless occasions weaved past the visitor's midfield and defence to deliver fizzing crosses. Ceiran was full of powerful running, chasing down every ball.

Up front, Freddie and Kris were on deadly form with Kris grabbing his first hatrick of the season and Freddie turning the defence on numerous occasions. Player of the match went to Finlay Da Silva - a quartet of goals but more importantly a dominant midfield display and a cracking volley for contender for Goal of the Season!

The final match at Home St saw the U15s produce a good performance for a well earned point at home to a strong Dundee West Reds 2009 side.

A large number of lads missing but the 13 who were available can be very proud of their performance. Breadalbane started the game brightly and controlled the majority of the first half, creating a number of good opportunities without scoring.

It was the Dundee side that started the second half stronger and within 5 minutes of the restart they took the lead.  It would not last long as their keeper, who had a great game up to this point, fumbled Ben's freekick and the teams were back level! As the game entered the closing stages, both teams would have chances but neither could break the deadlock as it finished 1-1.

Superb performances all over the pitch today. Every player deserving of a mention but shout out to Calum who played through the pain barrier for the team, and alongside Struan kept a very good West Reds' striker pretty quiet.

MOTM was awarded to Aaron, it was a tough shift up top today but he gave it his all. Always good on the ball, and his effort out of possession made a real difference.
