Weekly Wrap

26/05/2024

Sizzling conditions on Saturday for the Girls. The U10s made a slow start in baking heat against a very energetic Auchtermuchty Bellvue Colts side who showed some quick attacking play. However the visitor's passing really started to grow and grow and the goals followed. Plenty goals from both teams, lots of fun and played in great spirits.

Friday evening and a lot of pacing and frantic texting was done by the U14 Girls Coaches as they tried to pull together enough players to make the short trip to Crieff Juniors FootballClub for an East Region Plate match.

With striker Emma sidelined and keeper Isabella also injured, they still managed to field a team with the luxury of a substitute thanks to an unwell Alba also making the trip to support her teamates. Perthshire Amateur teams quick to forfeit matches please take note.

The visitors found themselves up against some real pace and power. By the first water break, the Breadalbane Girls were 4-0 down, despite Brooke pulling off some great saves.

The visiting defence were tireless with Bella leading the troops and relied on the pace of Piper on more than one occasion. Lexie rattled the post while the other highlight was a Brooke missile sending  ref Simon tumbling. A tough day, but well done to Crieff and thank you for their hospitality and the ice lollies!

Player of the week was Emeri for a great performance at left back where she never stopped and tackled hard all day.

Our Fun4s were on a bit of a Safari Sunday in the long grass at Bertha Park. Breadalbane Blues started like a whirlwind. Cooper making tackles all over the pitch with Harry sending thunderbolts of shots on goal. Josip the 'Mini Modric' twisted one way then another as he weaved through the opposition while Lauchlan had great close control.

On the other pitch, Bailey and Maxwell were the team enforcers for Breadalbane Whites - strong, tough and in the goals. Charlie showed some Maldini style defending, while Iustin and JJ were silky in midfield. Big thanks to Coach Simmy for helping look after the teams ahead of his 2012 match.

The super 5's have been progressing well so they were moved up a skill level. Cameron, Mylo, Callum, Ivan & Max all handled it brilliantly but getting the nod for Player of the Week was Finlay for his super goal keeping and great ball control when outfield.

The 2015s also turned in a superb performance taking part in a festival for their own age group at Davie Park, Blairgowrie. Much fun had on and off the pitch . It was great to see the boys get into a good rhythm of play with plenty of lovely defensive and attack work. Thank you to all the parents for a fairly long day of it but at least they all stayed dry (except Tyler). Thanks to Blairgowrie & Rattray Community Football Club for hosting.

Also at Blairgowrie were the 2013s where they replicated the training theme of pass and move with some incredible 1-2's. The team can be very proud of their effort and overall play.

One player has made massive improvements in  recent weeks which he  in showed again on the pitch - quick runs in attack and defensive play. Nestor was a well deserved Player of the Week.

A superb performance from the 2014 team at Ballinluig against Auchterarder Community FC 2014s who took passing and moving from training into their game despite such long grass. Some great finishing for all the goals with lots of different players getting on the score sheet. A good confidence booster for the team with Lewis picking up Player of the Match.

A tough encounter for the 2012s versus Luncarty at Home Street. A couple of early strikes allowed Luncarty to settle and pull away. Not easy without subs and a couple of players playing through injuries. Roddy had a great game and was awarded Player of the Match. Well done!

Next up on the Field of Dreams were the U15s who are in good form and were looking to make it a third consecutive league win as they hosted Montrose Vics.

After conceding a poor goal early, the boys never looked back playing some superb football on their way to an 8-3 win. The team retained possession well, working the ball out from the back and always looked dangerous in wide areas. They also competed well against a big, physical side.

Solid performances all over the park, shout out to both full backs, Thomas and John, who again were superb and also on the score sheet. The MOTM award however was picked up by Caleb, back to his best after a long while on the sidelines. Caleb showed everything thats great about his game. Back in the goals with a well timed run to get on the end of a brilliant cross from Logan which would be the start of a great 5 goal haul. Some superb strikes followed. Well done.

The U14s were away at Scone Thistle 2011s and put together a cracking team performance which sets them up nicely for this Sundays League Cup Final at Tulloch Park, 11am ko.

It waa great to see the lessons about intensity, protecting the ball, sharp movement and maintaining width from Fridays Futsal session paying dividends.

After an early set-back, Breadalbane powered to a 10-1 win. Coaches were of a mind to give the MOTM award to the entire team but opted for two - Rhys for a commanding midfield display, genius passing backed up with a cracking hat trick. Cameron shared the award for a powerful defensive performance, showing some fancy footwork when bursting forward  and some incisive passing game.
